Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner limitations disclaimer, Grace UX shown off in leaked screenshots

Among the leaked screenshots is a disclaimer that outlines the limitations of the fancy new iris scanner, and it is a long one. If you were hoping to be able to unlock the device after a night of drinking, you might be disappointed, as the disclaimer states that the Note 7 might not unlock when “some parts of your irises are hidden by narrowed or puffy eyes.” Oh, well. Otherwise, the set-up process for the scanner is very straightforward – just hold the device some 10 inches away from your face, align your eyes with the on-screen markings and wait for the scanner to do its magic.
Despite the rather lengthy list of warnings, the iris scanner should work in most scenarios, and if it doesn't, you can always resort to the unlock method of yesteryear and use your finger, right?
The latest batch of screenshots also shows off the interfaces of some stock apps, the Grace UX app drawer – which features an option for persistent alphabetical ordering of apps this time around – as well as an S Pen Air Command menu, which contains a new option called Glance and a feature to record parts of the screen and turn them into animated GIFs.
Are you excited about the Note 7 and its revamped UI? Would have you preferred it if the incessant onslaught of leaks hadn't revealed so much ahead of the official unveiling of the hanset? Let us know in the comments below.
