New ASUS ZenFone 3 Terminals Spotted in Bluetooth SIG Database
The Taiwanese tech company ASUS launched three new phones as part of the ZenFone lineup two months ago, namely the regular ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra and the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. The devices were meant to be an upgrade to the ZenFone 2 series which was announced in January 2015, although the company came up with other extra ZenFone 2 phones later that year. We are telling you this because it looks like it would be the same case this year as well. In other words, we have been expecting to see the manufacturer to launch new ZenFone 3 phones later this year, and we have evidence that this will happen in the near future.
It appears that the company will unveil two additional terminals that will be named ASUS ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Go TV. If you are not familiar with the matter, the ZenFone 2 laser was introduced in August 2015, so it won’t be a surprise if the company would release its successor next month. In addition, there is another handset that was listed on Bluetooth SIG suggesting that the ZenFone 3 Go TV may see the light of day too. There is a new report that lists no less than five model numbers, specifically the ASUS_Z01BDC, ASUS_ZC551KL, ASUS_Z01BD, ASUS_Z01BDB, and ASUS_Z01BDA. Four of the model numbers seems to be ZenFone 3 Laser models, but one of them is certainly the brand new ZenFone 3 Go TV, although we’re not sure of the phone maker will be keeping this name.
The specific model number for the ASUS ZenFone 2 Go TV was ZE551KL, while the one listed by Bluetooth SIG is ZC551KL, which makes us assume that the ZenFone 3 will be launched sooner rather than later. According to the document, the phone will come sporting an IPS display that will measure 5.5 inches and will have a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080. In the camera department, the device a 13 MP primary shooter located on its back side, while on the front you will find an 8 MP snapper which is ideal for selfies and video calls. It seems that the company will also throw in 5 GB of free web storage space for life. On the software side, the phone will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, which will be customized with the company’s proprietary ZenUI user interface.
Sadly, there are all the specs listed by Bluetooth SIG, but the handset is expected to feature a fingerprint scanning sensor as well, and it will probably be made out of metal. Anyway, the two smartphones should be released in the following weeks. We don’t know the exact date of launch, how much will they be sold for, nor in which countries will be made available. We will probably find out more in the next period of time.
