OPPO F1s selfie-focused smartphone launching in India on August 3
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo hassent out invites to a media event on August 3, where it will be unveiling the successor to the Oppo F1. Dubbed the F1s, the smartphone will be unveiled in India, which is not surprising given the popularity of its predecessor in the Indian market. Just like the Oppo F1, the F1s is going to be a selfie-focused smartphone
Selfie lovers will be glad to know that the Oppo F1s is expected to be a huge upgrade over its predecessor as far as selfie camera goes. While the F1 comes with an 8MP selfie camera on the front, the F1s is apparently going to feature a higher resolution 16MP unit on the front. Apart from an all-new sensor, Oppo is also said to have included quite a few new software features that should improve your “selfie experience”.
Another new feature will be a fingerprint sensor, something that is missing on the F1. It will be embedded in the home button on the front, and not at the back, like most other mid-range Android smartphones. The fingerprint scanner on the F1s is claimed to be able to unlock the device in just 0.22 seconds, which definitely sounds very impressive.
The Oppo F1 proved to be immensely popular not just in India but also in a number of other Asian markets. As such, the Oppo F1s is likely to be a very impressive device as the company would definitely want it to achieve even greater commercial success than its predecessor.
According to rumors, the Oppo F1s will come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and could be powered by a deca-core MediaTek chipset under the hood. It is also expected to include 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard expandable storage, 13MP primary camera, and a 3075mAh capacity battery. Thanks to superior hardware compared to the F1, the F1s is tipped to be priced at a premium over the current F1.
