HP introduces Stream 14 with upgraded specs and Windows 10

Following the pattern of the previous variants, the Stream 14 offers amazing specifications at an even amazing price and is expected to available for sale from September 7.

HP has announced its latest offering in its budget notebook category, Stream. After introducing the Stream 11 and Stream 13 two years ago, the American notebook manufacturer has now announced its latest product in the category which is named as the Stream 14.

Following the pattern of the previous variants, the Stream 14 offers decent specifications at an even affordable price and is expected to available for sale from September 7.

Apart from a 14 inch screen with 1366 x 768 resolution, the Stream 14 comes with upgraded internal specifications including Intel Celeron processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and 100GB OneDrive Cloud Storage. The notebook has WiFi (ac), USB 3.0 ports.

"A growing number of customers are relying mostly on cloud-based applications, such as social media sites, online storage and web-based programs, they store their photos on the web, not on their hard drives, and they're more concerned about the strength of the web connection rather than the power of the processor," said HP in a press release, announcing the launch.

HP also claims that the new Stream 14 can give you up to 11 hours of battery life which is quite impressive for a budget laptop. Furthermore, it will run Windows 10 out of the box.
The 11 inch variant has also seen an upgrade which will launch on August 24. The smaller Stream 11 will sport an upgraded processor with similar sleek design, a faster WiFi antenna. Unlike the previous 11 inch model the new variant will be a laptop/tablet hybrid and will sell at a starting price of $249 (Rs 16,600) sometime in September.

Whereas the Stream 14 will be available at the price starting from $219 (Rs 14,600) and will come in three colours namely Blue White and Purple in some regions.

With growing popularity of Chromebooks in India and recent integration of Android's Play store in the Chrome OS, HP is clearly looking to target the students as well as budget oriented audience. As of now there has been no information as to when will the Stream 14 come in India but it should be soon.
