Leak Reveals Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime Images and Specs

With is latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, being released the South Korean manufacturer is now looking to take care of the other segments as well. According to a new report, it seems that Samsung is getting ready to launch new model of the Galaxy J7 in Vietnam, which will be called Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. There is a local tech blog, that has managed to find out the specs of the upcoming device, and today we are going to talk about exactly that without further fuss.

According to the Vietnamese website, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will be sporting a Full HD display that will measure 5.5 inches and will have a resolution of 1920 x 1080. If the information is accurate, it meas that the resolution of the new handset will be better than the one of the previous Galaxy J7 models launched in 2015 and 2016, which have displays with the same size, but with only HD resolution. Further, while the 2015 model if the Galaxy J7 included 1.5 GB of RAM, and even though this year’s version was upgraded to 2 GB of RAM, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will come along with 3 GB of RAM.

The amount of internal storage has also been upgraded from 16 GB to 32 GB, which can be expanded using a microSD card. In the imaging department there are also improvements because the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will feature a 13 MP primary camera located on the back side, while the selfie shooter will have an 8 MP sensor. It appears that this new model will pack the same Exynos 7870 processor as the 2016 version, or it might be powered by a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 617 octa-core SoC. Moreover, the device will also pack a fingerprint scanner, which like most Samsung branded smartphones, will be integrated in the physical Home key. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will make use of a 3,300 mAh battery and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

When it comes to its appearance, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime’s screen seems to be protected by a 2.5D glass, which makes it look more slick and it’s also practical because it provides a better grip. Still, the phone has a more unibody design compared to the 2016 version, which sports chamfered edges, which makes us ask ourselves if the device will be made out of plastic or will it have a metal casing. We will know for sure when the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will be officially announced.
