Meizu PRO 7 Spy Shots Leaked, Curved Display Confirmed
Meizu might not be one of the top dogs, but it’s a fairly popular brand in China. The manufacturer’s current flagship phone is the Meizu Pro 6. However, if we are to believe the leaks and rumors that have been surfacing the web in the last period of time, things are about to change in the near future. In other words, we expect the company to launch the Meizu Pro 7 sooner rather than later, and according to the recent reports, the device will come sporting a curved display and it will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890. We assume that it will resemble the Galaxy S7 Edge, and if the rumors are accurate, the phone will be serious upgrade to the Pro 6, which is underpinned by the Helio X25 processor. Further, the Meizu Pro 7 is said to boast a bigger display than its predecessor, one that will measure 5.7 inches, this fact turning it into a phablet rather than a regular smartphone.
As mentioned before, we’ve seen a lot of leaks regarding the phone so far, and today we have a new series of photos spotlighting the Meizu Pro 7. You can see them for yourself if you glance at the gallery underneath the article. They are actually real life photos of the Meizu Pro 7, and you will notice that the display is indeed curved at both of its sizes. Just by looking at the images you can see that the device has very thin bezels on the sides. Recently, we’ve stumbled upon a couple of renders suggesting that the bezels won’t be present at all.
If we compare these photos with the renders, today’s images do seem credible. Still, the images don’t come from official sources and we can’t say for sure if this is exactly how the phone will look like when it will become available on the market. Speaking of which, rumor has it that the company will be unveiling the Meizu Pro 7 on the 3rd of September, so we don’t have to wait very long until we’ll get to see the handset’s final design.
As far as the technical specs of the smartphone go, the Meizu Pro 7 will come along with the manufacturer’s signature mBack physical home button, and on the right hand side there will be the power button and the volume rocker. The terminal will have a metallic frame, although we are not sure of it will be made entirely out of metal like the Meizu Pro 6, or the company will add some glass material on its back side. Anyway, the device will flaunt a QHD screen that will have a diagonal of 5.7 inches and a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440.
In terms of memory, the phone will include 4 GB of RAM, but a 6 GB model is not yet out of the question. Moving on to the optics department, it is said that the handset will feature a 12 MP camera located on the back side. On the software side, the Meizu Pro 7 will most likely be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, which will be customized with the company’s proprietary Flyme user interface. As mentioned, the smartphone will be underpinned by the Exynos 8890 SoC developed by Samsung, which is really impressive. One more thing that needs to be mentioned is that the home key will also work as a fingerprint recognizing sensor.
