Samsung Galaxy C9 Could Feature a 5.7-inch Display, Reveals Zauba Listing

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced an exclusive line of Galaxy smartphones meant for the Chinese market, dubbed the C-series. While the line currently comprises of the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7, a third member could soon join the family. The new smartphone will apparently be dubbed the Galaxy C9, and as you can tell by its name, it is going to be better-specced compared to the existing Galaxy C-series smartphones.

Carrying, the model number SM-C9000, several units of the smartphone have recently been imported to India for testing purposes. While the listing on Zauba doesn’t give out much info regarding the smartphone, it does suggest the Galaxy C9 will feature a 5.7-inch sized display. However, this does sound a bit weird as the Galaxy C7 too has a 5.7-inch display and it doesn’t seem very likely that Samsung would use an identical sized display on a smartphone that it intends to market as the Galaxy C9. We expect it to have at least a 6-inch display, similar to the Galaxy A9 and the Galaxy A9 Pro, which were also introduced as China-exclusive models. Since the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7 haven’t been launched in any market outside China yet, it doesn’t seem likely that the Galaxy C9 will be launched outside China either.

Not much else is known about the smartphone at this point, except that is codenamed “Amy” and is likely to be made official before the end of this year. The Galaxy C7 for reference is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset and comes with 4GB of RAM. Since the Galaxy C9 is expected to be at least as good as the C7 in terms of the core specs, you can expect similar hardware on the C9. However, we think it is more likely that the Galaxy C9 could pack the more powerful Snapdragon 652 chipset under its hood.
