Reliance Jio now offering new JioFi 4G Wireless Hotspot with OLED display for Rs. 1999

Reliance Jio has silently started selling a new JioFi 4G wireless hotspot through Reliance Digital stores in several cities across India for Rs. 1999, same as the 2nd generation JioFi that recently got a price cut from the launch price of Rs. 2899. One of our readers who got the device sent us some images of the new JioFi that has an OLED display.

The OLED display shows the battery life, signal strength and WiFi status. It has a micro USB port, power button and WPS button.

It comes in a new packing that is cylindrical. It also comes with a charger and micro USB cable. It has support for 3 (1800 MHz), 5 (850 MHz) and 40 (TD 2300 MHz) for Jio.

It has a 2600mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 2300mAh battery on the JioFi 2. This promises up to 5 hours of usage and up to 260 hours of standby. This might vary depending on the network condition. Jio says that it will take up about 3 hours and 30 minutes to charge the device using the power adapter and about 6 hours using USB.

Under the back cover there is a microSD and a micro SIM slot. The device has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support and lets you connect up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices and to a device using USB.

It also comes with a Jio 4G SIM. Similar to the JioFi 2, you can make voice and video calls even on a 2G/3G phone by installing JioJoin app and connecting it to the hotspot over WiFi.
